United Ways of Maine is dedicated to financial best practices and transparency, as are all United Ways in Maine. Formally incorporated as a 501(c)3 in 2019, UWME files IRS form 990 EZ as required. Revenues for United Ways of Maine come in the form of dues paid by the member United Ways and grants that support statewide programmatic efforts.
